Service-Learning

Service-learning breathes life into subjects that once were mere words on a blackboard. The teaching method engages students in service to their schools and communities as part of their academic studies. Students are able to make connections between what they are learning and how that knowledge is applied in the real world through service learning activities. It also helps young people develop a broad range of skills, from acts of kindness and caring, to community stewardship, to civic action. AED develops partnerships, programs and resources to create strong community connections across the country by helping to make service learning an essential part of every young person’s education.
