Local Governance

Local government is where the ideals of democracy hit home. Those ideals are realized when people embrace their role in creating an efficient, responsive and transparent local government. Through partnerships between civil society organizations and governments, citizen participation efforts, media outreach, policy initiatives and grants, AED works to strengthen local governance and ensure that fledgling democracies thrive.
