AED is designing a social marketing strategy and communications program for middle schools to use to promote physical activity and healthy food choices. Through a seven-site trial, the project will test how two interventions (food service improvement and a new physical education curriculum) can lower diabetes risk factors in middle school students. AED will conduct formative research with 6th graders and then design a social marketing campaign to be used in participating schools.
