The PASCA project is a regional program to help Central America respond to the AIDS epidemic. It brings together private- and public-sector leaders around key issues. These include: mobile populations, legislation, improved data collection, reaching men, reaching adolescents, and access to care and treatment at national and regional levels. PASCA also works with partners to strengthen HIV Positive leaders, networks, and NGOs through a variety of programs such as skills building activities; information exchange; distribution of manuals on strategic planning, behavior change, and monitoring and evaluation; and a small grants program. The PASCA project actively disseminates information and project findings through the project’s website (www.pasca.org), e-mail lists, bulletins, informational CDs, and other informative materials. Additionally, PASCA has implemented the “Acción SIDA” strategy, an adaptation of the U.S. Community Planning Model, in 12 sites located in six countries. Since its inception, PASCA has helped to enact more than 150 policy changes in the countries it serves.
