This project provides multidisciplinary expertise in helping the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) think “outside the box” and identify approaches to the overweight and obesity epidemic in this country.  By evaluating this complex problem from a variety of perspectives, CDC will have the necessary tools for making long-range, effective plans for developing and conducting domestic overweight and obesity prevention efforts.  An environmental scan has been completed and an analysis of overweight and obesity media coverage is in progress.
