AED is working with PA Government Services on the Energy Sector Technical Advisory and Assistance Services project. Technical assistance is being provided in the areas of energy sector reform, utility management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and technology transfer. The activities of this project will fall into three broad categories:

• To establish the necessary legal, regulatory, and managerial conditions for effective governance of the energy sector, for regional energy cooperation and exchange, and for sectors in which energy is a major factor.
• To improve the technical efficiency and operational performance of energy institutions (utilities, energy service companies, businesses, NGOs, etc.). 
•  To assist energy consumers in addressing the various social, economic and political dimensions of energy service provision and in participating in energy sector decision-making.
