
Independent oversight of AED’s activities is provided by the AED Board of Directors in accordance with its articles of incorporation, established in 1961.
Day-to-day management of AED is the responsibility of the President and other officers of the organization.

The AED Code of Ethics states that all AED employees should maintain fairness, ethics, and personal integrity in all matters and avoid any activity which is either illegal or unethical.
As part of AED’s effort to create and maintain a workplace of the highest professional standard, the Academy has an Ethics & Compliance Hotline, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Overseas staff can call in a concern at 561-207-2600, which can be dialed from any country. Staff in the U.S. can call 1-800-318-7153.
Employees wishing to report a concern also can go to http://aed.safe2say.info, which allows any person to report an incident at any time via the Internet without having to call an operator.
